Mac Lady Danger Lipstick

It’s a classic! Whenever you see make-up artists talking about red lipsticks in magazines and blogs, Mac Lady Danger is one that pops up time and time again. The Pixiwoo sisters have been talking about it recently when they met The Saturdays and found out that they were also fans of this gorgeous shade. I have to admit that I am a bit nervous around red lipsticks, always opting for a more nude lip, but think I have always chosen the wrong shade of red. With a warm skintone (I’m NC30/35 in Mac), I found out that I am more suited to reds with a orangey undertone and had previously tried more blue toned reds that didn’t really suit my colouring as much, which is why I have always been weary around reds! Once I had discovered this,  I wanted to find a perfect red that actually suited me, and where better to look than Mac… they seriously know how to to do lipstick, especially with the lovely vanilla scent which makes them even more appealing.

Lady Danger is a bright vivid coral-red which does look pretty bright in the bullet. However, I found that when applied you can use a light hand to gently dab it on if you want a more subtle colour. Equally though, you can just go for it, after all there is nothing that subtle about this lipstick so be loud and proud! It is a matte lipstick so I like to blot in between coats to ensure longevity, some may prefer to add a gloss, but I love it the way it is. I wore this on my recent holiday and looks lovely with a tan and a big pair of glasses!

Available from House of Fraser and Selfridges for £14 (or free if you do back to Mac!)
