June Favourites

June has been a great month, I have had loads of exciting things going on, my friends hen do and her wedding, my birthday, and of course the sun has been shining so have been making the most of  being outside. I have discovered lots of new products and rediscovered some old favourites, so here is what I have been loving during the month of June:

Garnier Summer Body
Seriously the best gradual tanning lotion ever, I have been applying this once or twice a week recently. So easy to apply, never leaves me streaky and in one application leaves me really bronzed and summer ready! It is so much easier than fake tan and is a bargain as is always on half price over the summer. Available from Boots for the bargain price of £3.75 for 400mls at the moment!

Soap & Glory Pulp Friction
I have been using this in conjunction with the Garnier Summer body to prepare my skin, so it is nice and smooth before I apply a tanning product. This has the perfect amount of scrub to it, I can’t bear scrubs that haven’t got enough bits in them (Soap & Glory Sugar Crush I’m looking at you!). The only thing I’m not crazy about is the scent, it’s quite nice and fruity, just a little synthetic for me. That aside, the scrub is really good and love that its in a tube, so much easier than scooping it out of a tub while trying to have a shower!

Mac MSF Soft & Gentle
I’ve only had this just over a week, but love it so much, it’s amazing the difference a lovely hightlighter can do for your complexion. Gives the skin a lovely radiant glow. I have done a full review of this here.

Mac Lipstick in Vegas Volt
Yes another coral lipstick! But this is more intense and quite a bright vibrant coral (or full-power coral as Mac describe it), which looked amazing with my coral dress I wore to my friends wedding. It really suits my colourings and its opaque formula lasts well on my lips and is really moisturising too, gorgeous!

Pixi Skin Tonic
This has become something of a cult product since Caroline Hirons raved about it a few months ago. It is an alcohol-free exfoliating toner so great for getting rid of dead-skin cells and leaving skin smoother and more radiant. I have been loving using this twice a day before spritzing with a more hydrating toner like Liz Earle Skin Tonic as part of my skincare routine. I really have noticed a difference and can say that it is definitely worth the hype. The only downside is its availability, but if it is in stock then it can be shipped if you don’t live in London and can’t get to the Pixi store.

Clinique City Block SPF 25
This has been a bit of a rediscovery for me. I remember buying it years ago when I was really into Clinique and had forgotten about it until I was doing a bit of research into SPFs. I worked out through trial and error that I am allergic to chemical SPFs which are often found in moisturisers and foundations, so since then I have been using moisturisers and foundations that don’t contain SPF and my skin has been fine. Obviously I still want to protect my skin from the sun’s damaging effects, so have using this which only contain physical SPFs (I might do a blog post on this as it would be better to explain it more in depth). It is oil-free and is a great base for make-up whilst also protecting my skin from UVA/UVB rays.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation
It took me a while to get into this foundation as it has quite a think consistency but now I have worked out how to apply it correctly, it is now a firm favourite in my make-up bag. The shade Bamboo Beige is the perfect match for my skintone and does a great job of covering any redness and imperfections. The best thing about this foundation though is its longevity, it lasts all day without slipping off my oily t-zone!

Now looking forward to what July has to bring!
