I recently came back from a few days in Ibiza which was amazing. I really liked this make-up that I did that took me from afternoon to evening so thought I would show you what I used. It is quite hard to get the balance between not wanting to wear much make-up as it is so hot but then as you are also going out you want to look a bit glammed up!
I firstly buffed the Bourjois Bronzing Primer all over my face using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. If you read my post on bronzing primers (here), you will know that I usually use this product as a cream bronzer. However, I wanted to create an all over bronzed look and with the tan that I already have, it just created a really lovely base and evened out my skin. I then applied a tiny amount of the Laura Mercier Creme Silk Foundation in Cashew Beige, with the same brush, just where I needed it for a bit of extra coverage. I have a very oily T-zone and find that this is excellent for staying put throughout the day, even in the heat. Under my eyes, I used Clinique Airbrush concealer which does not crease at all (see blog post here) and on any blemishes and redness, I used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 03 Medium, which is great as it stays put all day and blends well. I didn’t powder as wanted didn’t want it to look too cakey, but applied Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer all over my face, concentrating on the cheekbones and temples. I then applied Bourjois Cream Blush in 02 to the apples of my cheeks, which is a lovely subtle peach colour that works well with a tan and finally a small amount of Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle on the top of my cheekbones and brow bone for a subtle highlight.
For my brows, I filled them in using Mac Omega eyeshadow with a Mac 266 brush. I then used Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze all over my lids and blended out with a Mac 217 brush. This acts as a great shimmery base that keeps other shadows you apply on top in place. Over this I applied Mac Woodwinked (goldy/bronze colour) all over the lid and blended through the crease followed my a small amount of Mac Mulch (shimmery chocolate brown) in the outer corner. All these shadows are from my Mac Summer Quad which I talked about here. I also took both these shadows underneath the lash line using a Mac 239 brush. I then lined the upper lash line with Maybelline Gel Liner in black as this literally does not move once dry so perfect for hot weather. In the waterline I used Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Aqua Sparkle which is a bright turquoise and looks amazing with these bronze shadows as it really makes your eyes pop. Finally for my eyes, I didn’t really want to apply fake lashes in the heat, as wasn’t sure on how long they would last, so I used Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara*, which is great for really volumising your lashes, although I have to say, did slightly transfer onto my upper lid as they made my lashes so long!
I finished the look with Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti, a sheer orange lipstick which really finished off my whole look! I hope you like this look too?
