As it is National Lipstick Day Today (yes, apparently so?!), I thought I would show you my Mac lipstick collection. I only have five in my collection, but they are some of my favourite lipsticks. There are several formulations of Mac lipsticks which give different finishes once applied to the lip, but they all have one thing in common, that lovely vanilla scent which makes Mac lipsticks so identifiable! So here they are:
Hue
This was my first ever Mac lipstick and one that I have repurchased several times. It is the ultimate pinky nude and even though fairly pale, it does not wash me out. It is a glaze formula, which is quite light on the lips but also fairly opaque. I actually wore this on my wedding day paired with Mac Love Nectar Lipglass and it looked so pretty. This has been one of Mac’s best sellers for years and looks great paired with a smokey eye.
Shy Girl
This is more of a peachy nude compared to Hue and is my go-to nude lip colour these days, I absolutely love it! It is a cremesheen formula which, as the name suggests, is very creamy and looks lovely and glossy on the lips. It has warm undertones which compliments my skintone and looks lovely with literally any make-up look. I cannot be without it!
Speed Dial
Another cremesheen, so has the same creamy formula as Shy Girl, but is probably my most unloved of the bunch as I tend to go for warmer colours. This is a blue-toned pink which is actually really pretty, but more of a cooler tone, which is why I don’t tend to use it as much!
Vegas Volt
This is my most recent purchase, and I am in love! I cannot rave about this lipstick enough! I really do love coral (have I ever mentioned that?!) and is the brightest, most vivid coral you ever did see, it really does make me smile! It is an amplified finish which is gives it the full-on effect, which is also very opaque and creamy too! Looks beautiful with a tan and really does compliment my warm skintone and green eyes. I urge you to try it too!
Lady Danger
I rarely wear a red lip, but when I do, this is the perfect red for me. It is extremely pigmented and its orange undertones suit my complexion well. It is a matte formula which gives it longevity without being drying at all. I have done a full review of it here.
There are so many more that I want to try but at the top of my list are Patisserie, Coral Bliss and Pure Zen. Does anyone have any more Mac Lipstick recommendations for me?
Mac is available at Debenhams and House of Fraser where lipsticks are now priced at £15.
