Now Autumn is upon us, I’ve been switching up my eyeshadow wardrobe which mainly consisted of golds and bronzes, and opting for richer tones like plums and chocolate browns. As most of you will know, Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze (post here) is an absolute staple in my make-up bag and has graced my lids nearly everyday during spring and summer, either as a base shadow for other shadows or simply just on its own. Well now there is a new shade in town…introducing Metallic Pomegranate.
This has actually been in shops for a while now, but it is new to me and is the perfect shade for autumn. It is a deep plum/aubergine shade, (or pomegranate if you will!) with fine golden shimmer running through it. I have been wearing this across the lid, blended out with my Crownbrush C433 brush (a Mac 217 dupe!) and a touch of Mac Espresso eyeshadow through the crease to complete the look. I have green eyes and this colour is so complimentary as plum/purple is opposite on the colour wheel, making a great choice if you really want to make your eyes pop! I think it would however look great with most eye colours though. It is also meant to be an amazing base for Mac Cranberry eyeshadow, which is of a similar tone and is next on my list to buy, can’t wait to see how they look together! The lovely Katie from Sugarfixx did a video on this look combination, so please check that out here.
For those that don’t know about Maybelline Color Tattoos, they are a cream eyeshadow that are easy to apply and literally stay put all day. I’m not too sure on the 24 hour claim as who really wears make-up for this long(?!), but they definitely are still apparent after a long day at work! There are quite a few shades to chose from now and are available at Boots and Superdrug for only £4.99.
