Hailed by many as the best hair mask ever, I was excited when I saw the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer as a free gift on the cover of this months In Style magazine, as I have been wanting to try this for a while now.
This is a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment, and the idea is that you wet your hair with warm water, squeeze off the excess water and apply the Elasticizer to the mid lengths and ends of the hair, working it in as you go. You then leave it for about 20 mins, ideally under a shower cap, although I didn’t have one so just wound it into a little bun and left it to do its magic. You then wash your hair as usual and voila!
Philip Kingsley says that Elasticizer delivers a rush of moisture to the hair’s cuticle; suppleness elasticity and bounce appear instantly without weighing down or coating the hair.
My hair, which is really needing a cut at the moment so not in the ultimate condition, felt lovely after the treatment, so soft and nourished. It was instantly manageable and easy to style without being over-soft. It didn’t weigh down or coat my fine hair at all and made it feel lovely and ‘swishy’. Even when I washed it the following day, it still felt lovely and bouncy.
I really enjoyed this treatment and results are meant to improve with further use, so I will continue to use it to see how it benefits my hair. This magazine is out at the moment, so grab it while you can! Alternatively, you can by this from Escentual and Marks and Spencer, where a 150ml tub will set you back £27.50 (gulp!), although it is currently on offer at Feel Unique with 25% off. It is pricey, but like anything, you get what you pay for, and it really does deliver great results.
