New Year Beauty Resolutions for 2014

Happy 2014! Hope you all enjoyed your new year celebrations! I definitely did, and am now ready for a detox and to get focused for the coming year.

I am pretty good when it comes to the usual new year resolutions like ‘drink more water‘, ‘take my make-up off every night’, etc etc. So here are my New Years resolutions that I hope will make a more beautiful 2014!

1. Get More Sleep!

I definitely do not get enought sleep, sometimes I don’t get to bed until nearly midnight and that is not good when I have to get up at 6am the next morning or get woken in the night by my little boy. When I go back to work next work, I am going to aim to get to bed for 10-10.30pm which should give me nearly 8 hours sleep, which is the perfect amount to feel refreshed for the day ahead. My skin will thank me for it too!

2. Take Omega-3 Suplements

Omega-3 Fatty Acids are fantastic for the skin. They help to regulate oil production, keeping your skin hydrated, preventing it from drying and flaking. As a girl with combination/dehydrated skin, this will be a great benefit to the condition of my skin. They also act as an anti-oxidant to prevent harmful free-radicals from UV rays damaging your skin and help the repair too. Omega-3 oils also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help conditions such as rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. They have mood-boosting properties which I am hoping will help with PMS too. I will let you know how I get on.

3. Stress Less

I have been feeling a little stressed recently, I think it is the combination of Christmas, buying a new house and looking after a three year old. Sometimes, I let things get on top of me, which does nothing for my mood or skin! I am going into 2014 with a more positive attitude and am going to take some time out to relax and calm by having a relaxing bath with aromatherapy oils and candles, which I hardly ever do.

4. Look After my Nails

I love having well groomed nails, but sometimes I just cant be bothered. I find when I neglect them they do have a tendancy to flake and peel which is ugly, so I am going to make a more concerted effort with  using strengthening treatments, filing them and using cuticle oils and hopefully this will make for stronger, more elegant nails.

5. Take More Exercise

This is probably on the top of most peoples New Years resolutions, but aside from making you fitter, exercise also makes you feel better. It enhances your mood and burns calories which is only a postive thing in my eyes. Here is hoping that I stick to this one!

Whatever your New Years resolutions, I hope 2014 is a year full of happiness for everyone, as after all that is the most important thing!
