Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Watch out Bioderma, there’s a new kid on the block, introducing the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Looking like more of a dupe appearance wise than the L’Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Water (review here) it has the same rounded bottle and pink cap that Bioderma sports. It also contains a whopping 400ml for only £4.99, so cheaper per ml than both the L’Oreal and Bioderma, but how does it fair?

Much like the L’Oreal offering, it removes face make-up well, but is a little stubborn on heavy eye make-up. This is not to say that it doesn’t do the job, it removes it well, but it is not instantaneous and there is a bit of tugging involved on the eyes which is not ideal! I probably tend to use more product with this than I would with Bioderma, so although it is much cheaper, it would definitely run out quicker. The ingredients are very similar to L’Oreal, and when comparing the two, I honestly cannot tell much difference to be honest. They both do the job, simply, cheaply and effectively. Please note though, that I only use this to remove make-up as the first step in my cleansing routine (post here), which I follow with a cleansing balm/gel for a more thorough cleanse. I don’t think it would be effective enough or nourishing if I were to use it alone. The good news is though that it does not break me out at all, and for someone who has the most reactive skin ever, this is gets the big thumbs up from me.

Yes, I prefer Bioderma without question, but as it is not readily available in stores as yet, this is the perfect solution that you can pick up easily in the drugstore without breaking the bank! Available now in Boots

Have you tried this yet? What is your favourite micellar water?
