My Dressing Table & Make-Up Storage

Having recently moved house, I thought I would give you a sneaky peek at how I store my make up in my bedroom. I have never actually owned a dressing table, so was so excited to finally be able to get one. I absolutely love it, it has quite an Art Deco vintage feel to it and is like no-one else’s I have seen before and is also a nice step away from the usual Ikea furniture that I have had in the past. The contrast of the the gold edging, together with the crystal-inspired drawer handlesmakes me feel very glam when I sit at it. It is part of the Juliette range from Next, which I also have a few other pieces of furniture from in my bedroom which all look beautiful. Frustratingly they discontinued the table top mirror just before I bought it, so I am yet to find a nice mirror to sit on top, but this one from Ikea does me just fine for the moment. I have a beautiful chair on order that will look amazing with it, so excited to get that too.

The drawers in the dressing table are quite small and shallow, but in have used a few lids of old boxes to separate my make up. In this drawer, I keep all my pencils, eye bases, pigments, mascaras as well as my primers, foundations and concealers. There are two deeper drawers at either end too and that is where I keep all my palettes and larger bits and bobs. I have also just bought a couple sets of the Muji Acrylic Drawers which I love and house all my lip products as well as cheek products such as blushers, bronzers and highlighters. On top of the drawers are my perfumes as well as an old mini Diptyque candle jar with cotton buds in for correcting mistakes!

I keep my brushes in a mercury effect pot which I bought from little shop on Marlow High Street before Christmas when I was visiting. It is is nice and big so still have space for extra brushes! My make-up bag doesn’t really have much in it anymore since I have transferred it all to my storage, but I love it so just leave it here to look pretty! It is from Biba and is really big so fits lots in it, I must have had it for about 3 years no and it still looks good as new. Finally the lips pot is from the Guy Bourdin for Nars Fling Set which was limited edition at Christmas. I have literally just got the four products it came with inside but love how it looks on my dresser.

I couldn’t be happier with my new set up and hopefully once I have found a new mirror and when my chair arrives, it will look even better!
