NYC Beauty Haul | Sephora & Drugstore

For those of you who didn’t read this post earlier this month, I will be moving to New York in June, (all things going well)! A few weeks ago, I went out there with my husband to find us somewhere to live, which was very successful and now we have a lovely apartment to move into now when we get there. On our last day there, my husband had to work, so I was left to my own devices to shop! Now I didn’t go too mad as I knew I would only have to cart things back with me when we move, so bought a few bits and bobs from Sephora (a.k.a Heaven!) and also the drugstore. I have to say I was in my absolute element, and could have spent a fortune, but did have to control myself!

Let’s start with Sephora, I visited the one on 5th Avenue which was huge and was probably in there for the best part of an hour, but could have stayed longer! I first spotted the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Creamsicle which I have been lusting after ever since seeing it on Sandra’s YouTube Channel ages ago! After swatching a few of the Fresh products, I was in love with the scent, so I picked the Brown Sugar Rollerball EDP which I thought would be perfect for popping it in my handbag! I then visited the Sephora stand which was huge and there are so many products that I have now got on my wishlist, but the MicroSmooth Baked Bronzer Duo in Honey Heat caught my eye. It combines both a matte and slightly shimmery bronzer in one palette and just gives you the most amazing bronzed look in seconds, my new love! Finally, I picked up one of the Sephora Formula X polishes that I have heard so much about in the shade Here Comes the Sun, which I literally bought for the name alone, but thought it a perfect muted coral shade for Spring/Summer. Just before I left, I saw a cheaper line of Sephora Nail Polish for only $5, so chucked the shade Speed Dating in my basket and ran to the till!

On my shopping trip, I visited a few drugstores, namely CVS, Walgreens and Duane Reader but just settled on a just few picks this time. The Maybelline Color Elixirs had been on my radar for a while, so picked up the shade Nude Illusion to try out. Another lip product which I am extremely impressed with and cost less than $2 is the Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Just Peachy which is my new favourite lip product at the moment, it is quite matte but so creamy at the same time and last ages on the lip! I also spotted these ColorStay Eyeshadow Links from Revlon which you can snap together to create your own palette. I hadn’t seen these in UK (although they are available now!)) so thought it would be good to be able to see how they faired. Finally, the hardest product to track down was the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso and I seriously must have looked in about 6 drugstores before finding the last one, seems like this is a very popular colour. Reminds me off Benefit Coralista but less shimmery, so I think I will be getting a lot of use from this over the coming months!

No doubt you will see these product cropping up in posts over the next few months. I am really looking forward to sharing more exciting products from the US with you all soon.

Is there anything that I need to pick up when I get there, all recommendations welcome!
