Lip Product Addict TAG

Anyone that watches Amelia Liana and Essie Button on YouTube will probably be familiar with this as they collaborated on a video recently to do the Lip Product Addict Tag. As I have an abundance of lip products (they are most definitely the make-up item I have most of!), I thought I would do this Tag in blog format instead! So here goes…

1. Favourite Balm/Treatment

Nuxe Reve de Miel without question, it is the best lip balm EVER! I use this every single night before bed and wake up to soft hydrated lips. However dry my lips get, this always sorts it out. It is a very thick balm with a matte texture that can even be worn underneath lipstick. Holy Grail!

2. Best Eye-Catching Red

I don’t often wear a red lip, as I am far more comfortable wearing nudes, however my most favourite red I own is Mac Lady Danger. It is a very vibrant red with orange undertones so definitely eye-catching and suits my skintone well. I have a full review here

3. Best Luxury & Best Drugstore

My best luxury lipstick would be Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Evasion, which is a beautiful pinky nude that glides onto the lips leaving a sheer wash of colour with a slight golden glimmer. The perfect accompaniment to a smokey eye, which I reviewed here.

The best drugstore lipstick I have is undoubtably Rimmel Moisture Renew in Nude Delight. It is the perfect nude that works well with any look and a dupe for the Mac lipstick in the next question. It keeps the lips really hydrated too! Full review here.

4. Best MAC Lipstick

Mac Shy Girl is my all time favourite Mac lipstick, and I have repurchased this countless times. This peachy nude cremesheen formula imparts a good amount of colour to the lips creating an opaque look and is beautifully moisturising too. A definite staple in my make-up collection.

5. The Most Disappointing

The lipstick that sticks in my mind for being disappointing is the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede in It Girl. The colour is lovely, unfortunately the formula is not. I found it to be extremely drying on the lips causing it to look patchy as it wears away. Not hydrating in any way and not so long lasting and budge-proof as it is meant to be.

6. Liner – Yes or No?

I do love the fullness that a liner creates on the lips, but day to day I don’t tend to wear it, so save it for when I want to make more of an effort. No. 7 Precision Lips Pencil in Nude is one that I have used for a few years now on recommendation from Lisa Eldridge, which is perfect for my favourite nude lip look. I have also recently bought Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk which is slightly more pink in tone and it really does mimic the colour of your lips and create the perfect pout, I love it!

7. Best Gloss

My favourite lip gloss in my collection is the Chanel Glossimer in 357, which was a limited edition colour last Christmas. It is an opaque pinky nude which glides on beautifully and is one that actually stays put without being sticky. It has the best formula I have tried, so I really must invest in more shades soon!

8. Something Extra

My most recent discovery is the Clarins Lip Balm Crayon, which has the most hydrating formula of all the lip crayons I have tried and has a balm-like formula which makes it super easy to apply, even without a mirror! I have been loving the shade Sweet Cherry* which is a gorgeous cherry red that gives a sheer wash of colour, whilst being totally fuss free. Perfect for red-a-phobes like me. It is part of the Colours of Brazil Collection which I have posted about recently here
