Top to Bottom: Creme Brulee, Apple Strudel, Raspberry Pie
Meet my new obsession…from the drugstore! The NYX Butter Gloss is not a new product by any means, but they are new to me and I am completely besotted, the formula, the shades, the proce, everything about them is perfect!
I have the shades Creme Brûlée (a nude beige), Apple Strudel (a light pink coral) and Raspberry Tart (a deep berry purple), which are all beautiful, it really is hard to pick a favourite. I bought Creme Brulee and Apple Strudel in the summer and wore both of these so much, I decided to pick up the more autumnal shade of Raspberry Pie in my recent NYX Haul.
The formula of these are so smooth and creamy that they just glide onto the lips with ease, leaving a semi-opaque colour on the lips. What I mean by this, is that they leave just the right amount of colour on the lips that you can wear them alone without lipstick, but are not overly intense that you would need a mirror for precise application! It is easy just to slick these on and you are good to go, so I find them great for carrying around in my handbag and topping up your colour throughout the day. They are quite dinky too, so do not take up a lot of room.
On the lips, they feel amazingly hydrating and comfortable and are not sticky in the slightest. I would go so far as to say that they are probably some of the best glosses I own, even better than some of my higher-end glosses. Of course you haven’t got the luxe packaging (although it is quite cute!) or gorgeous branding, but the product itself is just the best and come highly recommended.
There are 22 beautiful shades to choose from and are available for $4.99 from ULTA Beauty in the US or £4.99 from NYX online in the UK.
P.S. I have a little US drugstore giveaway at the moment (ends Fri 17th Oct 2014) check here for details.
