Oxblood Is The New Nude! | Mac Toledo

Mac Toledo Collection Lipstick in Oxblood

The latest Mac collaboration is with fashion designer and illustrator, Isabel and Ruben Toledo. If you are a Mac collector, then you definitely want to be picking up something from this collection, the cute illustrated white packaging is simply irresistible.

Personally, I am not much of a collector, but when I saw this nude lipstick, I was immediately sucked in and knew it had to be mine! After selling out in minutes on the Mac website, I managed to track it down at Nordstrom where it was released a few days later.

The shade in question is Oxblood, which is slightly confusing to be honest as Oxblood is more commonly thought of as a darker burgundy/purple shade! Name aside, this is a warm, mid-toned peachy nude with a matte finish. Although it is matte in appearance, I found this to be quite creamy and comfortable to wear and didn’t dry out my lips at all.

I love this shade, it is very wearable and for me is the perfect everyday lip color. It is actually almost exactly the same shade as Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheap in Pillow Talk and when paired together they match perfectly. This excited me no end as that is one of my most worn lip pencils, and to have a matte lip color that matches is just perfection!

You may be able to track down this shade at a Mac store or concession, but unfortunately it seems to be out of stock online everywhere. Good news for those in the UK though as this has not yet been released there yet, but is apparently arriving in March. If you like the look of this shade, be advised to grab it as soon as you can, as being the only nude lipstick in this collection, it will definitely sell out quickly!
