It didn’t really hit me me when I moved to the States that I wouldn’t be able to get hold of some of my favorite make up and beauty products that I have always used in the UK, you just sort of assume that America has everything (which they pretty much do!). There are just a few products that you either cannot get at all or are a bit tricky and need to order online from the UK and get sent across.
These products are my top picks of what to pick up from the UK if you are visiting from the US or another country.
The best gradual tanning lotion I have ever tried, just one application makes me summer ready, without having to worry about tanning mits and patchiness. It is an absolute bargain too!
The best nail formulation ever that lasts for days chip free and its nice fat brush makes application a doddle! Being Maybelline I assumed these would be available in the US, but apparently not which saddens me somewhat, I just make sure to pick these up when I am visiting!
Technically you can get this in the States, but only my delivery from the UK – I get mine from Beauty Bay which takes about 10 days with free delivery! I must be on my fifth bottle of this glorious pink cleanser by now which I use every morning. I have done a full review of this here.
You can actually order Bourjois online from Feel Unique and ASOS, although you cannot test the shades before you buy. My first pick from the brand would be the Healthy Balance Powder, which is probably the best drugstore powder out there, it minimizes shine without looking heavy and adds a touch of coverage where you need it. I also love the Rouge Edition Velvet, a creamy velvet finish lip stain which is not too drying and stays put for hours. I love the shade Happy Nude Year!
These gel nail polishes give a serious high shine. They are less than £4 and come in a vast array of shades. My personal peachy favorite though is Papaya, which I get so much wear out of during the Spring and Summer. Barry M also do great lip glosses and eye crayons too!
Everyones favorite drugstore concealer. I don’t think there is a UK beauty blogger alive that hasn’t written a rave review on this high coverage concealer. It is creamy, blendable and covers everything, although I prefer it on blemishes rather than under the eyes as it can crease a little. Another beauty bargain!
A recent discovery but a new love and possibly the nicest smelling dry shampoos in history. I was never a big dry shampoo fan until I tried Colab, but if you read this post you will know that these have well and truly converted me. My favorite scents are New York and London.
I was late to the party discovering this brand, but they honestly do some amazing products that really do compare to higher end brands. They are so affordable so you would be a fool not to stock up when visiting the UK. Some of my favorites that I have tried are the Lip Lava, the Blush, Bronze and Brighten Palette and the Goddess of Love Highlighter.
