Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette | Review & Swatches

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

I have been a Gwen Stefani fan for years, especially from her No Doubt days when Don’t Speak was released, I was 16 at the time which just shows how old I am now! Gwen has always been so edgy in her style and even now, twenty years later she continues to wow me with her sass and beauty. The woman is 46 years old for heavens sake and looks incredible, and watching her on ‘The Voice’ each week, I am in awe, I don’t think she has ever looked better!

When I heard she was collaborating with Urban Decay to release a makeup line, it went straight to the top of my wish list and I didn’t even know what she was releasing, I literally wanted it all! The Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette is her first release from the collection (with lipsticks due for release in Spring 2016), and is just gorgeous! The beautiful and sturdy gold and white packaging sets this palette aside from other Urban Decay palettes and houses 15 eyeshadows which Gwen herself chose to create her perfect palette.

There are a great range of neutrals in this palette, which I think surprised some people, however I think neutral shades work well with a bold (red) lip which is something Gwen is synonymous for, so will definitely compliment her upcoming lipstick range. I personally love neutral eyeshadows, they are great for everyday so I know I will get a lot of use out of this palette, but I also love that it is not just all about the neutrals. The bottom row of shadows includes some far-out there shades like Danger, a metallic royal blue which at first glance looks completely unwearable, but looks lovely blended in the outer corner and under the lower lash line. If anything, this palette has got me experimenting with a few more unusual shades, although I will most probably stick to the neutrals!

I love the mix of mattes and shimmers in this palette and being Urban Decay, you just know the quality is spot-on. For an everyday look, I have been loving Skimp all over the lid with Anaheim through the crease which is a simple look but goes really nicely with a berry lip which I have been loving recently. The shade Punk is also a favorite and is a gorgeous reddish brown with a matt finish that intensifies any neutral look and really compliments my green eyes well.

As you can see, there is something for everyone in this palette, although many of the neutral shades are probably quite dupable. However, if you are a makeup obsessive, love eyeshadow palettes or are a Gwen Stefani fan, this should definitely be on your Christmas list!

You also get a sample pack of four of her lipstick shades included with this palette to tease you for her forthcoming launch, but lets just say I have found the red lipstick of dreams in this, so am very excited for their release.

The Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette is $59 and is available from Sephora
