Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit

If there was one palette that made us beauty bloggers go weak at the knees this Christmas, it was the launch of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit, a swoon worthy collection of Hourglass’ famous ambient lighting powders, blushes and bronzer. It really is a thing of beauty and after seeing it in my Holiday Gift Guide, my lovely husband surprised me with it on Christmas Day! After coveting it for so long (and being restrained enough not to buy it!), I was so happy to receive this beauty.

If you have not discovered the joys of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, they use Photoluminescent Technology, infused with optically transparent particles that alter the appearance of the skin by manipulating and refracting favorable light. This gives a soft-focus to the skin that minimizes the look of fine lines, imperfections and discoloration making it appear more youthful. I love the powders that are in the trio palette, and last summer bought the bronzer in radiant bronze light which  is absolutely stunning, so was excited to try more from the brand.

Personally, there are many reasons why this palette is a must have. Firstly it contains one of the very newly launched Strobe Lighting Powders in Iridescent Strobe Light, which is a great way to test the water before rushing out and buying the full size. It also contains two of the blushes which I have never actually tried before so was eager to try them, especially Mood Exposure, a soft plum shade which I had on my wish list for a while.

There is also the bronzer, in Luminous Bronze Light which is the lighter of the two bronzers and the one I don’t own so am pleased to have this now, and finally two of their famous Ambient Lighting Powders. The first is Dim Light, a peachy beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights the skin and the one that I have been wanting to try for ages, Diffused Light, which is a warm, yellow toned powder to conceal redness and give the skin clarity.

I am totally in love with this palette and have been using it most days since I got it. I have mainly been using Diffused Light to set my makeup which does an amazing job of balancing the color of my skin and giving me a subtle glow. I follow this with the Luminous Bronze Light bronzing powder, which is a great shade for my paler winter skin and also Mood Exposure for a neutral pop of color on the cheeks. These powders really give you that soft-focus and beautiful radiance to the skin, which as the mother of a newborn, is definitely much needed right now!

Many people may argue that the size of the powders are not good value, but I honestly think it is amazing to have this selection of shades housed in one palette. It allows you to try all the different Ambient Lighting powders that Hourglass offer and is also an amazing travel companion as you have everything you need to enhance the face in one place, and it shall definitely be coming with me on my next holiday!

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit ($82) is limited edition so will not be around forever, but it is actually still in stock at Sephora (at time of writing this), so get it while you can!
