Snow Day Treats

Snow Day Treats

Storm Jonas has arrived here in New York today, forcing everyone to hibernate in their homes to stay warm and cozy. Even though we are experiencing some of the worst snow fall in New York history, I do love a good snow day as it is the perfect excuse to chill out, stay in your pajamas all day long and give yourself a treat.

As I had time to kill today, I treated myself to a lovely long shower and had a little pamper. I started by applying the Dr. Brandt Oxygen Facial Flash Recovery Mask* (review), a quick three minute mask to rejuvenate and brighten my tired skin. I have really been loving this mask recently, it is the perfect quick fix for lackluster skin. After I shampooed my hair, I applied the Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Reconstruct Repair Masque*, which I love to give that intense boost of moisture to my highlighted hair. This mask is great as I am still able to style my hair as normal after use, without it being to soft and slippery, which can often be a problem with some hair masks on fine hair. Whilst I am waiting this to sink in, I exfoliated my body with the Kiehls Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Body Polish. This is a lovely scrub that has the perfect texture of grain that you can feel is doing a great job of buffing the skin, without being overly harsh. After my shower, I completed my pamper by slathering my skin with the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme, which is the best treat ever as it smells so delicious.

Snow Day Treats - Cupcakes and Hot Chocolate

As an extra treat, I whipped up a batch of hot chocolate with marshmallows and feasted on these amazing cupcakes from our local cake shop down the road (a perk of living in New York!), which were insanely delicious! We ditched our healthy eating efforts just for the day, after all who can eat salad on a snow day!

What are your favorite indulgences on a day off?
