To mark Valentines Day, I thought I would bring you a little post about my favorite rose scented products. Roses have been used in skincare for hundreds of years, and its oils are well renowned for their hydrating and soothing properties. I never thought I would be one to write this post, as I used to hate the smell of rose (except in fresh bouquets of course!), however over the years my tastes have changed and now I really do enjoy using a rose product or two! All of these products have a very delicate rose scent that is somewhat lighter and more sophisticated than the rose scented bath products your granny may have used back in the day, and have now become staple products for me!
The product that got me started on this rose bandwagon, is the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, my favorite cleanser ever, that I know I have talked a lot about on here. Apart from all its skincare benefits, it is a pleasure to use everyday because this pink gel just smells too darn good. Massaged into the skin, its light floral aromas instantly relax you, making it a welcomed treat in my skincare routine.
A more recent discovery is the Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist which I use to hydrate my skin after cleansing. It has a base of coconut water that is infused with hibiscus flower petals and Bulgarian rose to tone, hydrate and soften the skin. Probably the best smelling face mist that I have used, which has now got a firm place in my skincare routine!
For a more intense dose of roses, the Fresh Rose Face Mask is a hydrating and toning gel mask that is infused with real rose petals and 50 percent rosewater. I love to use this mask after a more cleansing/clay based mask to give an injection of moisture and to soothe my skin. This ten minute mask just does that, whilst also restoring radiance to leave a glowing complexion.
Finally, but by no means least is the By Terry Baume De Rose, which has been my latest obsession of recent months. I know I am exceptionally late to the party on this one, but this gorgeous lip balm definitely deserves its hype! I love using this for its hydrating and nourishing properties and its subtle pink tint and rose scent makes me want to apply it again and again. It also contains SPF 15 to protect your lips from the elements and can also be used to soften cuticles and dry skin, so a great multi-use product!
