I have spent the past couple of months trying to find the perfect base to take on holiday with me, everything that I had previously tried, was not quite right for me. I had a list of demands that I wanted from said product; it must contain SPF, the SPF must be physical as chemical SPFs break me out, it must be lightweight, long-lasting and have good coverage. A lot to ask I know, however The IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream ticks all the boxes for me!
This stuff is seriously incredible, so much so that I am using it now as my everyday base of choice, which I can see myself using all summer long. So what is so special about this CC cream? First off, it is in a travel friendly tube with a pump which makes it the ideal choice for holidays and day-to-day alike. I will say though that one full pump of this is actually too much, so sometimes I can dispense more than I need which is a little wasteful but this is my only real niggle with the product!
The shade range is pretty limited with only five to chose from, however the shade medium is a pretty perfect match for my current NC30-35 skin tone. For a CC cream it has pretty thick texture, but it really does blend in well. I either use my fingers or for a more professional approach I buff it in with a buffing brush and blend with a beauty blender, which really does give me that seamless look. Whichever way you chose to apply it, it leaves your skin looking perfected, any redness is illuminated, pores are minimized, minor blemishes are hidden and it even gets to work on dark circles, although I still need to conceal here too! The coverage is amazing and yet it doesn’t feel as though you have much product on at all. I often find with high coverage foundations that they slide off my t-zone in warm weather, and tend to crack where I have fine lines, but after testing it out in the warm climate of Antigua, I am thrilled to report that this really does hold up all day long. Yes, my oily t-zone still looks a little shiny during the day, but the product is still in place and its nothing a little powder won’t fix!
The winning element for me is that it contains broad spectrum SPF50, made from physical sunscreens, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. My skin really doesn’t like some chemical sunscreens so I have to be very careful when choosing foundations as too often than not, if a foundation contains SPF, it is usually chemical. This causes me breakouts, skin irritation and cystic acne which is not pleasant! Having such a high SPF makes it the perfect choice for the summer months when you need the added protection, but I would honestly wear this all year round.
Another bonus is that it contains anti-ageing technology that is proven to improve skin texture, brightness and hydration. I have to say that my skin feels comfortable when wearing this so is definitely hydrating, but I think I will need to use this a bit longer for skin care results, although by how impressed I am with this product so far, I am sure it will deliver!
I honestly cannot recommend the IT Cosmetics CC Cream enough, if you are looking for a lightweight summer base, but don’t want to compromise on coverage then you will love this. It is probably my best find of the year so far!
