Changing up your makeup bag to suit the season can get expensive, there are always so many new launches, it is often hard to keep up. Fall or Autumn as I still refer to it as (I’m a Brit!), is probably one of the most notable seasons where many like to have a shake up of the old make up bag. With warmer, richer tones coming into play, coupled with wine, berry and copper shades, there are so many gorgeous products, it is hard to know what to choose, especially as in three months time, you will be changing it up again for Winter! I have selected four key products, which in total come to less than $25, that would totally transform your look and get you Fall ready!
Mac ‘Coppering’ Eyeshadow ($6)
This is a orangey/red copper shade that can be worn alone blended across the lid or for a more subtle approach, with a matte brown shadow through the crease to tone down its vibrancy. This shade is quite similar to the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Rouge Brûlée that was recently launched and subsequently sold out everywhere as part of the Chanel Le Rouge Collection. As much as I would have loved this in my collection, I knew that as a neutral lover, I probably wouldn’t wear it that much so couldn’t justify the $36 price tag. However, a $6 Mac shadow won’t break the bank, so it is a fun way of mixing it up and trying something new, plus it looks amazing on blue and green eyes!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen ($5.99)
Nothing screams Fall more than a berry lip, it will instantly transform your look and make you look season appropriate. I admit I am not a lover of liquid lipsticks, contrary to the rest of the beauty world, I just find them a bit of a faff and can’t be doing with the will they/won’t they be drying gamble! The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are the one liquid lipstick though that I have got on board with, I think when I bought my first one I didn’t really realize what it was and ending up loving it! They are nice and soft to apply, and not drying at all (I would be the first to moan about that!) and the dark berry shade of Copenhagen is just perfection for Autumn, without getting too vampy!
Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose ($7.99)
Whilst I am adding more red/plum/berry tones to my lips and eyes, I feel that it is important to keep it neutral on the cheeks, you really don’t want to go overboard by adding a bright pink blush that is going to clash with your gorgeous shadow or lipstick. I like to use earthy or muted tones, that add dimension to the face without being too obvious. This Milani blush in Romantic Rose is a gorgeous dusky brownish pink that literally goes with every look. They have a great long-lasting formula to them too and blend into the skin with ease. I have a full review on these Milani blushes here.
Revlon Nail Enamel in Vixen ($3.99)
Finally, to complete the look you absolutely need a Fall appropriate nail polish, so really any plum/berry/wine/burgundy nail polish you like, but I really love the deep blackberry tones in Vixen by Revlon, which is a bit of a cult product. Revlon nail polishes are really smooth to apply and have a narrow brush for precision and I love that you only have to spend a few dollars to give your look that Autumnal vibe!
