There is no denying that your skin goes through a lot during the Winter months. The constant change in temperature of the cold weather outside to the warmth indoors really does play havoc with our skin, leaving it looking dull and feeling dehydrated. Using a face mask or two, can really help brighten and revitalize your lackluster skin, making it feel renewed and plump again. There have been three masks I have been relying on recently to bring my Winter skin back to life.
I am going to start with my most recent discovery, the Complex Beauty Rose Glow glycolic mask that does wanders to brighten the skin. The glycolic acid works to reduce any scars or blemishes by exfoliating the skin, and the rosewater in there hydrates and soothes the skin, leaving a more even appearance. It has a clear gel-like consistency that tingles slightly on application, but after 5-10 minutes you are left with brighter, glowing skin that also feels firmed and refreshed. I have done a full review on all the Complex Beauty face masks here, which is well worth checking out if you are looking for a new mask as they definitely have something for every skin!
My go-to mask in the mornings when I don’t have much time and my skin is feeling tired is the Dr. Brandt Oxygen Facial flash recovery mask, which you can actually do in the shower (well I do anyway!) as it only takes three minutes! You apply it to damp skin and it foams up which looks quite amusing, but after rinsing it really does make my skin feel so revitalized, plumped up and gives it a much needed glow. It’s my perfect quick fix for mornings when I am not looking my best! I have a full review of this mask here.
Finally, a mask that doesn’t need much introduction is the Glamglow Thirstymud, a hydrating treatment mask that I use when my skin is feeling particularly dehydrated. I usually use it after a deep cleansing or clay mask when my skin is feeling decongested and use it as my last step of my skincare routine before bed. I apply a generous layer of this tropical smelling mask to my skin (normally and hour or so before bed to allow my skin to my skin to drink up a little before I hit my pillow) and in the morning my skin feels so plump, hydrated and I find my skin tone is more even and feels so soothed. It is the perfect remedy if your skin is suffering from having one too many cocktails or great for long haul flights too. If you have dehydrated skin, then you need this mask in your life!
