March has been a great month for discovering new beauty products, there have been loads of new season releases and I have been testing out some great products which I think will see me right through the Summer. Here are my faves:
The Glossier Cloud Paints have been hyped up beyond belief, but the hype is real as these seamless cheek colors are the most natural looking, easy-to-apply, generally beautiful products. These creamy liquid blushes are super easy to use, you blend with your fingers and they literally melt onto the skin leaving a beautiful, natural flush of color to the cheeks. I have the shades Dusk and Beam, Dusk is a pinky brown nude that goes with pretty much every makeup look and Beam is a peachy coral which is probably my favorite of the two as it really brightens my complexion. You definitely need to check these out, and if you want 20% off your first order, click here!
I am not much of a lipgloss girl at all, but when I tested the new Chanel Rouge Coco Glosses, I was immediately sold! They have a smooth formula which is not sticky at all, makes the lips look plump and feels so comfortable to wear. It has a larger than normal doe foot applicator which applies the gloss evenly and it lasts really well too. I have the shade Nectar which is a gorgeous coral red that I thought would be perfect for my holiday to Mexico next week!
My most recent mascara discovery is the YSL Shock Mascara, which I have been loving. It gives both amazing volume and length and is probably as close to false lashes as you are gonna get! It has a lovely shaped brush which really hugs the lashes and although it is getting a little clumpy now after two month of continuous use, it lasts well all day long without smudging or flaking at all.
I always have room for my lip balms in my collection and my latest discovery are the Emile Cordon Cashmere-On Lip Pots*, which are made from all natural ingredients and come in the most unique flavors. There are a few different flavors, my favorite being No.1 Lisa, which is Rosé Champagne which tastes delicious, but each pot is a sophisticated blend of fragrances that feels extremely luxurious on the lips and leaves them super soft. Emile Cordon is NYC based brand that is well worth checking out!
You will have seen in my previous post that I recently bought the Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish in Rock The Runway, which I can’t rave about enough. It is probably the easiest to apply out of any nail polish I have ever tried, it goes on so smoothly and its wide brush means that you can coat the nail in just a couple of strokes. On me, it doesn’t last a week that some people have reported, but a good four to five days and then just minimal tip wear which is good enough for me. Rock The Runway is such a great orange toned red that will be perfect for the summer, I can see me getting a lot of wear out of this one!
A product that I think everyone needs is the Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray, which is hands down the best setting spray I have ever tried! For starters, it has a very fine mist spray which is perfect as it doesn’t get you face soaking wet like a lot of them do, so it dries down almost instantly without all the hand flapping and locks your makeup into place. My make up lasts all day long when using this, and I have a very oily t-zone that everything slides off, so I am truly impressed. It is alcohol-free so won’t dry out your skin or cause irritation and the best part for me is the gorgeous radiance you get from this, it gives a beautiful luminous finish to the skin. Love this!
If you have fine, damaged hair like me that just feels weak and lifeless, then you need to get the Redken Extreme Shampoo & Condtioner, aimed at strengthening and restoring distressed hair. I bought them on a whim because they are nearly a third of the price of Kerastase here in the US, but know they are a well-loved brand, so though I would give them a shot. These are seriously game changers, after about a month of using them, my hair feels much so much thicker and stronger and in generally better condition. Even my hairdresser and colorist asked me what I had been using on my hair as it felt so much thicker, so definitely praise indeed and I am now hooked!
