Nars base products have some of the best formulations around and they are a definite favorite of mine. Their Soft Matte Complete Concealer (review here) that launched last year, was one of my best beauty discoveries of 2017. I was therefore so excited when heard they were launching a new foundation.
The Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation, is how the names suggests, a longwear foundation that offers a radiant finish in a medium to full coverage. It has a lightweight formulation, which allows it to look natural on the skin and also makes it very easy to blend seamlessly into the skin too.
I have always been a big fan of Nars foundations, I loved their Sheer Glow Foundation (review), but ultimately it just slipped off my oily t-zone! I did go through two bottles though before I had to move on to something a little less dewy. Then there was the Nars All Day Weightless Luminous Foundation (review), which was more suited to my combination skin and was longer wearing, but I didn’t really enjoy its water-like consistency after a while as I prefer a creamier formula. The Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation is like a hybrid between the two aforementioned foundations, so it offers the best of both. Even though it is a medium to full coverage foundation, it still gives the glow, which I appreciate. Having an oily t-zone makes me drawn to more matte foundations in the attempt to keep it on my face all day. The struggle is that I am actually dehydrated too, so a matte formulation doesn’t always look the best after a few hours wear. This foundation gives me the coverage I need, with a radiant formulation that doesn’t slide off my face.
It claims to have a 16-hour wear time, which I think on my skin type is a little enthusiastic! It is definitely long lasting and wears well without sliding of the face or going patchy, but towards the end of the day I do need to touch up a little on my t-zone, which I am fine with. If you were less oily than me though, I think it would live up to the claims.
There is an impressive 33 shades in the range and I selected the shade Punjab, which is my go-to shade from the brand, as it matches my skin tone well. I have a light to medium complexion with slight yellow undertones and it really is a great match for me. I think Nars shade range has a shade to suit most, and I love that I can just pick the shade I was in a previous foundation of theirs without having to swatch, it makes buying online so effortless.
This is my favorite Nars foundation to date as it ticks all the boxes for me and basically does what it says on the tin!
