Longwear Foundations are currently aplenty in the beauty world with multiple brands releasing them as their latest formula. Longevity is ultimately what everybody wants in a foundation, so formulation is key to it making it look good all day long. Here are the best of the bunch and the good news is that there is something for every skin type!
The Nars Natural Radient Longwear Foundation is exactly as described with excellent coverage to boot. This medium to full coverage foundation has a beautiful lightweight formula, so gives a very natural looking finish. It adds a radiance to the skin that is not overly dewy, but just gives a subtle glow, so even though this is suited to all skin types, those that are more combination to oily may like the added radiance that is not going to disappear after a few hours. It also blends seamlessly and lasts pretty much all day, a great choice for any skin type!
The Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Matte Foundation is more suited to oilier skins or those that like a matte finish to their foundation. Matte foundations can often have thicker formulations, but this glides onto the skin and blends easily without feeling heavy at all. This foundation contains blurring microspheres which are tiny powder-filled spheres that diffuse the light and leaves a soft focus effect, so anyone with large pores will love this as it blurs their appearance, delivering an airbrushed finish. The travel-friendly tube is great for girls on-the-go too.
One of the most highly anticipated launches last year was Rhianna’s brand, Fenty Beauty. The Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation comes in an impressive forty shades, making this an inclusive product for all skin tones. It has an oil-free formula with a soft matte finish, that is neither too matte or too shiny so works well on all skin types. This buildable, medium to full coverage foundation is going to be perfect for the Summer months as it does not clog pores and has the lightest texture so never looks or feels heavy on the skin. Definitely one to check out!
The Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation is another great recommendation. This foundation has slightly a thicker formulation than the others that some may find more comfortable to wear than the more liquid formulations. This foundation has a very beautiful finish and even though it is matte, it doesn’t settle in fine lines or look flat on the skin. It really evens out skin tone well and is sweat proof and transfer resistant to keep you looking fresh even in the warmest of climates. This, like the others has a weightless formula and provides great coverage for up to fifteen hours.
The most iconic long wearing foundation thought is undoubtedly Estée Lauder Double Wear (not pictured), now with a breathtaking lineup of 56 different shades, there is bound to be a shade to suit everyone. I am very late to the party with this one, and am kicking myself for not jumping on the bandwagon sooner, but I love everything about it. It blends easily, it covers well without looking heavy and is neither too matte nor too dewy. I think this foundation deserves a post all of its own though so I will be doing a more in-depth review of this asap!
